RETAIL DESIGN AND SHOWROOM FITOUT

AAPAC DESIGNBUILD designed and fitout a furniture showroom within Skygarden, an upmarket shopping arcade in Sydney CBD. The retail design was for displaying wall decorative panels and antique furniture. The stepped ceiling, wall display units and quarry tiled floor were important parts of the showroom fitout.

The stepped ceiling in the fitout was built with powder-coated aluminium frame with open grid cell panels. The panels in the retail design were used to facilitate air-conditioning supply to the showroom without the need of individual air register.

The display units, a main component of the showroom fitout, were designed to display wall decorative panels on sliding tracks. Heavy duty rollers and tracks were chosen to support the weight of decorative panels. The retail design called for the frame of the display units to be finished in lime pink colour to provide a contrast to the displayed items which were mainly of dark colour background with rich colour schemes and patterns.
