designed and built the extension on top of a
single storey supermarket on a busy suburban road. The
extension added a third level which includes 3 one bedroom
units. Each unit is designed with open lounge, dining,
kitchen and bathroom. The original building was of full brick
construction. To minimize the additional loading on the
existing structure, the new floor was of timber frame construction with
steel stud plasterboard partitions. Roof construction was of
steel frame and colorbond metal deck. The exterior was hebel
(aerated concrete) panel cladding in render and texture paint
finish. The extension was built while the supermarket below
remained in full operation.
